As a Long Island Family Portrait Photographer I was asked to take a photo of a house that belonged to a family who purchased this house in the West end of Long Beach in 1970. The mom knew me as the local school photographer for her children and that's how the connection was made. The family decided to move to North Carolina and leave their Long Beach roots behind. Being the nostalgic soul that I am I asked if they would like to have a few memories inside the house to bring with them. So the family met at the house and they told me their stories and how they used the house and what each room meant to them. It was a small house but it was well cared for and well loved. So instead of 1 family portrait outside the house I created a 30 page keepsake book of their memories for them to have forever and to be able to share their history with their new friends and with future generations. I don't market myself for these projects but they are very close to my heart. After all, I became a photographer because I didn't want the beauty I saw in the world to be forgotten.
