I can't tell you how proud I am of this maternity experience with Melissa. Her Best friend gifted her this session so it's an interesting dynamic when a client comes to a session without actually being the one who selected the photographer. Also, Melissa had no intentions of having a maternity photoshoot and changed her mind 4 weeks before she was expected to give birth. So there was no time to waste!! I showed Melissa a few concepts I was interested in trying and she shared some images she connected with and together we spent the day and created some magnificent magazine style yet still keepsake images her daughter Mila will cherish for the rest of her life. This session was a squeeze in and I hadn't spoken to Melissa until a few weeks following her session to check in on her.... AND she was on the way to the hospital! Talk about a connection!! Back to the images..... Because Melissa did her pregnancy portrait session with me, Mila's newborn session was half price and I offer that to all of my maternity clients. As of right now I will only accept newborn sessions if I photograph the maternity session first. I think it's really important for the parents to know and trust me and feel comfortable in my space before they bring the most precious part of their lives back to me for newborn pictures.
